AI-lab and Data Services at the Swedish National Archives (Riksarkivet)

The Swedish National Archives (Riksarkivet) manages government records for future generations and has done so since 1618. Its mission to procide access to cultural heritage and authentic information that can be used for research, judicial matters, and public transparency is fundamental to the Swedish democracy.

The AI-lab and Data Services team provide datasets, models and products related to this public mission with a primary focus on supporting archives-based research.

Among many things we work with Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR), entity recognition, language models and archival search and discovey. We share our training data and models on platforms like Huggingface 🤗 and elsewhere. If you are interested in improving or utilizing our models, we would be delighted to collaborate!
